ByVBS ON DEMAND has been nominated to win The SavvyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Award! The winner will be announced in September, 2009. A reader’s choice contest, SavvyMom media established this contest to recognize the hard work and dedication of Canada’s ‘savvy’ moms. Juggling home life and work life is difficult as it is, add business ownership into the mix and things can get quite hectic! When I heard about this contest, I knew I had to be a part of it. And I am thrilled that I now am!
I launched VBS ON DEMAND in 2007 when I realized that my potential was not going to be recognized by itself. I also realized that my daughter was growing up quickly and I didn’t want to miss yet another recital or school play due to work. It can be easy to lose yourself and go underappreciated in the corporate world. It took a life changing experience for me to realize my dream to become a Virtual Assistant and since launching my business, I have never looked back.
I am extremely proud of my business’ success and I could not have done it without my valued and loyal clients. If I am crowned Mom Entrepreneur of the Year, I plan on, yes, paying off some debt accrued through business start up costs, but also improve my business through marketing and advertising initiatives. I would also like to celebrate with an event dedicated to helping other moms follow their entrepreneurial dreams.
